Today, the final workshop of PIANO was held at the Institute of Informatics and Telematics of the National Research Council, in Pisa, Italy. During more than two years, the multidisciplinary project’s consortium worked to advance our current understanding and countermeasures regarding online toxicity on social media, achieving significant results.
Indeed, for the workshop’s program we highlighted several of the more than twenty publications on social media moderation made in the context of PIANO, as well as the impact of our work —up to stakeholders directly involved in the regulation of social media in the European Union. The event was also characterized by the active engagement of the participants, with lively discussions around the technical and ethical implications of personalized automated social media moderation.
